About the Company Republic Airways is one of the largest regional airlines in the United States, operating modern Embraer E170/E175 aircraft on behalf of Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines from bases across the country. Role Overview Full-time position within the Maintenance team. The Maintenance Controller oversees the quality and quantity of all line maintenance work performed by the company and by on-call maintenance provider vendors. Key Responsibilities Establish and oversee the completion of assignments by maintenance associates working on active aircraft at gate and hangar operations, redirecting work as required. Authorise the use of and supervise on-call maintenance provider vendors contracted to perform maintenance and return aircraft to service. Provide technical knowledge and logistical support to maintenance and flight crews on active fleet maintenance discrepancies, Minimum Equipment List (MEL) issues, configuration deviation lists and rescheduling, to determine proper and timely corrective action. Coordinate with maintenance, flight dispatch, maintenance planning, materials, engineering and QA inspection, providing continuing follow-up so corrective action on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is taken as promptly as possible. Oversee and coordinate aircraft ferry flights, and assess when charter services are needed to recover aircraft grounded at outstations or to move parts to aircraft requiring maintenance. Collect and provide information on all daily cancellations and delays caused by maintenance or materials problems in order to complete daily Flight Interruption Reports. Ensure MEL deferred item status is current and within the time limits authorised by the MEL. Update other controllers and Maintenance Control Coordinators on work progress and assist with shift turnover reports per the GMM. Complete all internal company forms, maintenance records, documents and work orders, including maintenance computer system transactions. Provide coaching and on-the-job training as directed. Complete recurrent training. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and technical maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; able to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of company associates. Able to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardisation exists, and to interpret instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Makes day-to-day decisions supporting strategic direction; decisions are somewhat structured, typically short term and usually of moderate cost. Licences & Qualifications FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licence. Preferred: FCC licence. Experience At least one year of related experience in maintenance control or a similar area. Preferred: previous experience in maintenance control, as an A&P mechanic, or airline experience. What We Offer Full-time permanent role in the Maintenance team. Additional Information Physical demands: able to sit for prolonged periods and to use hands to finger, handle and feel and reach with hands and arms at least 90% of the time. Work environment: able to work nights, evenings, weekends and holidays to support 24-hour operations. Travel: up to 10% of the time, including overnight travel.
